The Daily Kos is reporting that Disney-ABC’s topical and questionably accurate miniseries, the Path to 9-11, was financed by money from the Religious Right.

Specifically, Youth With A Mission (YWAM), is reported to have, through its auxiliary - The Film Institute (TFI), anted up the $40M necessary to produce the film, which has been widely attacked for historical inaccuracies as well as for it’s it partisan retelling of the events leading up to and including that fateful day.

Further fueling this story’s fire is the revelation that Loren Cunningham, the founder of YWAM, is also the father of the Path to 9-11 director David Cunningham.

As of this writing, ABC-Disney has reportedly made several fixes to the film to correct inaccuracies, but it is unknown if these changes will be sufficient and if the show will air as scheduled.
