ONE PROBABLE AGENT OF THE DEVIL HAS BEEN ELIMINATED AND ANOTHER CONTINUES TO DO THE DEVIL’S WORK.
For those of you who have read THE LIB for these past two years, it should come as no surprise that I am not a Christian. It might surprise you, however, that I do have an interest in certain Christian writings and teachings. One of the beliefs of some Christian practitioners that I have always found to be of interest is the idea that an Anti-Christ exists.
Essentially, the Anti-Christ is an agent of the devil pretending to be someone doing good, while, in actuality, leading his or her followers down the path to Perdition. Sometimes, I feel that the world may actually be full of Anti-Christs, or at least members of Satan’s minions that have fooled many whose intentions may be honorable, but whose deeds lead to evil conclusions.
This morning, when I turned on the television, I was shocked, and almost pleased, to learn that our troops in Iraq had eliminated a man who could certainly qualify as one of those Anti-Christs, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the terrorist leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq.
I must admit that I don’t often take pleasure in the death of a human being. Yet, here was this hateful man who sent his followers out on suicide missions laying dead in Iraq, and, frankly, I was glad that he was gone. He was not an Iraqi; any more that Yasser Arafat was a Palestinian. It seems that, left to their own devices, many of the nations in which Islamic terrorism has taken hold might never have gone down that path had it not been for outside agitators. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was an import from Jordan.
He became a terrorist for reasons that are not really important here. Perhaps he was taught to hate in some refugee camp or in a fundamentalist school. It doesn’t matter. He was a man who saw an opportunity to spread the hate he practiced when our country illegally invaded Iraq. And so he moved in and formed an offshoot of Osama bin Laden’s organization. He convinced his followers that they would be rewarded in heaven for the evil deeds they did on earth, and like lemmings they went willingly to their own deaths, taking countless others with them.
He will not be missed, nor should he be.
Meanwhile, on our side of the globe, one of our homegrown Anti Christs continues to spew the bile for which she has become a symbol. Ann Coulter, a right wing crazy attorney, has developed a reputation for outrageous statements that are rarely, if ever, close to the truth. She is a best selling author whose books are gobbled up by folks who believe that George W. Bush is Christ’s messenger on earth who has come here to bring about an Armageddon that will lead to the second coming of their saviorHer latest book, GODLESS, is currently number 1 on Amazon.com’s bestseller list. That is truly disgusting given the premise and main theme of this particular project.
In the book, Coulter attacks several women, the widows of men killed in the World Trade Center attack of September 11, 2001, who have been demanding answers to the question of why our country let its guard down on that fateful day, and Cindy Sheehan, the mother of Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, who has been asking for a simple answer to her question, “What is the real reason for President Bush’s attack on the sovereign nation of Iraq.”
Coulter has dubbed the Trade Center widows, “The Witches of East Brunswick,” and has said, “these broads are millionaires lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities… I’ve never seen people enjoying their husbands’ deaths so much.” Her comments about Sheehan follow the same path claiming that Sheehan has made her quest for the truth into a career.
Of course, none of this needed to have happened if our president had simply been truthful, if he had explained to us why we were attacked, if he had told us why NORAD was told to stand down only a few short hours before four plane were hijacked and used as weapons in an attack against our country, if he had gotten out of his car and explained to a grieving mother why her son had to die in Iraq rather than drive past her that summer in Crawford. If President Bush had done those things, perhaps these women, who have no other agenda than getting the answers that they deserve, the ones which might explain the reasons for the losses they have suffered, might not be protesting.
But those losses mean little to Ann Coulter and her readers. Those losses only give her more reasons to pursue the path of the Anti Christ that has become her raison d’etre, the same path followed by her leaders, Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove and Frist.
One probable agent of the devil has been eliminated and another continues to do the devil’s work. Are they all that different? Perhaps, their methods were not the same, but their goals of terrorizing people into adopting their evil ways are. And that should not surprise you, because, in reality, is George W. Bush that far away from Osama bin Laden? Both have points of view far different from the norm, and both have been willing to take the most extreme paths to achieve their goals, something only agents of Satan, himself, might be willing to do.
Which leaves us with two sub imps, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and Ann Coulter, who it seems were put on this earth to do the work of the devil. One has met the unholy end that he deserved to burn in whatever hell might exist in fact or fiction, and the other continues to do the work of the false god she really worships, the fellow with horns and hooves.
