Once again the numbers are in and it is obvious that America is on to the cheap suit that is George W. Bush.
Take for example the latest numbers from today’s Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
Poll Highlights include:
In the matter of healthcare: 76% OF AMERICANS CALL INCREASED HEALTH CARE ACCESS AND LOWER COSTS “AN ABSOLUTE PRIORITY” FOR 2006.
But is anybody at 1600 Pennsylvania listening?
Regarding the corporation serving “War For Oil “: TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICANS (67%) SAY IT IS TIME TO REDUCE TROOP LEVELS IN IRAQ, while only a piddling 28% of Americans still support maintaining the existing troop levels. Here too, I can only wonder if anyone is listening? Surely, Donald Rumsfeld is not. Ditto Dick Cheney, the true powers in Washington D.C..
In the this man is too dumb for life catagory: 49% PREFER OF AMERICANS NOW WANT CONGRESS TO TAKE THE LEAD IN SETTING NATIONAL POLICY, while barely 25% still want Dubya to kold the reins.
As to the President’s job performance: ONLY 39% OF AMERICANS STILL APPROVE OF THE JOB THAT GEORGE BUSH IS DOING AS PRESIDENT. This is DOWN 11 percentage points in the last year.
Regarding Dubya’s character: ONLY 38% OF AMERICANS STILL BELIEVE THAT GEORGE BUSH IS “HONEST AND STRAIGHTFORWARD”. This is DOWN 12 percentage points in the last year.
As to his abilities as a leader: ONLY 42% OF AMERICANS STILL BELIEVE THAT GEORGE BUSH HAS “STRONG LEADERSHIP QUALITIES”. This is DOWN 10 percentage points in the last year.
